πŸ•Š️ PEACE

🌍 Understanding Peace and Living Together in Harmony

🌟 Learning Goals:

By the end of this lesson, learners should be able to:
✅ List what peace looks and feels like
✅ Explain why peace is important
✅ Draw and recognize peace symbols
✅ Identify groups and organizations that promote peace
✅ Name rules that help keep peace
✅ Understand why peace matters for everyone

🧘🏾‍♀️ What is Peace?

Peace means that people live together in harmony — without fighting or hurting each other. It means people are free, safe, and happy.

When there is peace:

  • Children can play safely outside

  • People can go to school or work

  • Families can build homes, grow food, and care for one another

  • People respect and help each other

✨ What Does Peace Look Like?

Peace looks like:

  • Smiles and hugs

  • Helping others

  • Listening before fighting

  • Working or playing together

  • Sharing with others

  • Being fair and respectful

🌟 Why is Peace Important?

✅ Peace makes people feel safe and happy
✅ Children go to school without fear
✅ People can work and feed their families
✅ Money is spent on good things like hospitals and roads
✅ No one has to run away or hide

🧠 Think: Can you learn well or sleep peacefully when there is noise, anger, or fighting?

πŸ•Š️ Symbols of Peace

We can use pictures to show peace. These are called symbols. Some peace symbols are:

πŸ•Š️ White dove
🏳️White flag
🀝 Handshake
❤️ Heart
πŸ€— A hug

🏒 Organizations That Work for Peace

Here are some groups that promote peace in Botswana and around the world:

  • Religious organizations (churches, mosques)

  • The United Nations (UN)

  • Botswana Red Cross Society

  • SADCC

These groups help feed the poor, build hospitals, teach about fairness, and care for orphans and the sick.

πŸ“ Rules That Help Keep Peace

Rules guide us to live together without fighting.

At school, home, and in the community, we keep peace by:

  • Respecting each other

  • Being polite

  • Talking out problems

  • Following school or home rules

  • Treating people how we want to be treated

🧠 Good and Bad Things About Peace

✅ Good Things:

  • People live happily

  • Everyone feels safe and free

  • People respect one another

  • We work together and share

❌ Bad Things (if we don’t value peace):

  • We take peace for granted

  • We forget to help others

  • People may fight or become selfish

  • There may be sadness or fear

πŸ“ Activities to Try!
